Whoops – one day early

THE Advocate apologises for jumping the gun and bringing forward an important meeting about the future of tourism in the city.

The meeting is actually being held on Thursday, March 14

Coffs Harbour City Council is developing an economic strategy in line with the 2030 Community Strategic Plan and wants to find out how tourism fits in.

The workshop, which runs from 9.30am-12.30pm, aims to develop industry action plans to be implemented during the next four years.

Strategy author Grant Cairncross will be conducting an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the local tourism sector as well as getting industry snapshots and visions for the future.

The concept of what sustainability means to the industry will also be explored.

If you're passionate about tourism locally and have some ideas for its future, get along to the Norm Jordan Centre at Coffs Harbour Showground.
