Turnbull one week, Plibersek the next

DEPUTY Opposition leader Tanya Plibersek visited Woolgoolga yesterday with Labor candidate for Page Janelle Saffin.

The pair met at the Woolgoolga Surf Lifesaving Club to discuss the party’s commitment to investing $1.2 million to re-building the ailing clubhouse building as well as other community infrastructure projects.

Earlier on Friday, Ms Plibersek toured Rushforth Park in South Grafton.

Ms Plibersek’s visit to the electorate comes off the back of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s $25million jobs package announcement in the region last week.

Both visits highlight Page, a marginal seat, as a key battle ground for both parties.

The latest Galaxy Research poll is indicating a close election with the two party preferred poll showing Labor and the Coalition tied up at a 50/50 split.
