Tourist avoids jail over jet ski death
A YOUNG Queensland tourist has avoided jail after being charged with third-degree negligent homicide over a Hawaii jet ski crash that killed a Californian teenager.
Tyson Dagley, 20, a carpet cleaner from Crestmead, south of Brisbane, was sentenced in the Circuit Court in Honolulu early this morning local time.
Channel 7 reported the 20-year-old was handed a deferred sentence, meaning the young tourist will be able to return home and will avoid a stint in jail.
