Terrorist attack hits Kenya as Islamic cells intensify
AT LEAST 10 people have been killed and more than 70 injured in two explosions in a busy Nairobi market place, according to Kenya's disaster agency.
Kenya's National Disaster Operation Centre (NDOC) said the blasts occurred at the Gikomba market.
"First blast was from a 14-seater matatu [minibus], second blast within Gikomba market," NDOC said on Twitter.
"10 fatalities, close to 70 others injured in the Gikomba blasts. One suspect has been arrested."
A spokesman at the Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi's main hospital, said many of the injured are in a serious condition.
