Survivor star’s crazy plan backfires

Despite all his best efforts, Survivor schemer Henry Nicholson was the fifth contestant sent packing from All-Stars during Tuesday night's episode.

The 26-year-old labourer - best known in his original season for telling his tribemates he was a yoga instructor despite being nothing of the sort - gambled his chances on a fake immunity idol to no avail.

In a last-ditch effort to save his own skin, Henry fashioned a fake idol in the hours before tribal council, then pretended to find it on the ground as the tribe was about to vote.

It was a bold, bizarre plan - and it absolutely didn't work.

"Can I make a suggestion?" asked tribemate Nick as Henry returned to his seat clutching the fake idol. "I think he put that there before he sat down. It didn't look big enough to be an idol."

"I think we should find out … let's vote," said host Jonathan LaPaglia.

Henry's efforts to spook his tribemates didn't work - fellow contestant Shonee played her (very real) hidden immunity idol, meaning the five votes cast for her didn't count.

All it took were three votes to send Henry packing.

"What a way to go … another blindside. Zen Hen went way too hard from the start; I'll admit my mistakes," Henry said after his elimination from the game.

"Seeing someone like me - a physical threat, a strategic threat - go out number five, I think it's really going to get the ball rolling. I think it's going to be blindside after blindside. Anything can happen!"

Survivor: All-Stars continues 7.30pm Wednesday on Ten/WIN.
