Strong swells and winds hit coast
COFFS Coasters and holidaymakers are urged to be vigilant, with warnings of strong winds and big swells issued for much of the coastline.
At 10.30am this morning, the Bureau of Meteorology issued a coastal waters wind warning for areas between Yamba and the South Coast.
A trough is moving along the Mid North Coast, while a low remains over the northern Tasman Sea.

It comes after lifeguards were on high alert on Boxing Day as two-metre waves, whipped up by the remnants of ex-tropical cyclone Fina, pounded beaches.
The hazardous conditions closed many Coffs Coast beaches with lifeguards and lifesavers on high alert again today.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the rough conditions were a result of ex-tropical cyclone Fina, which formed 1000km off Townsville's coast several days ago and headed west before reducing in strength.
