Stars guests for sign-on

COFFS Harbour Surf Life Saving Club and Coates Hire Rally Australia have joined forces in the rally's Community Partnership Program.

Today at Park Beach from 11am, Coffs Harbour SLSC Nippers will be holding a registration and open day.

Special guests are Coates Hire ambassador and champion ironwoman Courtney Hancock and WRC driver Chris Atkinson.

"Courtney and Chris will be attending from noon to meet and greet our future surf life savers and share their experiences with them," club president Paul Ninness said.

"The other important job they both will have is to present the club with new Nipper boards to the value of $5000 which will be used to train the younger Nipper members in valuable surf life saving skills.

"Our club is thrilled that Coates Hire have joined forces with us and a great number of young people and in turn the community will benefit as a result.

"We will have a barbecue running and we look forward to welcoming back our Nippers from last season.

"Anyone who would like to join or gain some more information should come down to the club at Park Beach today."

Atkinson is happy to sign autographs and talk to rally fans keen to see him do well in his home event.

"My aim is to drive well all weekend and be as fast as possible," he said.
