Stars come out to play on Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Day
RACING: The racing just keeps getting better with four intriguing Group 1 races to be run at Caulfield tomorrow.
The Caulfield Guineas is one of Australia's premier stallion-making races and the winner will likely join Moir Stakes victor Extreme Choice as the leading stallion prospect in the country.
Sydney-based horses have dominated the Guineas in recent years and the betting markets suggest that will be the case again this weekend.
Team Hawkes-trained Divine Prophet and Godolphin-owned Impending are locked in a battle for favouritism in the betting market with Ladbrokes.
Godolphin ended its Group 1 drought in Melbourne when Hartnell won the Turnbull Stakes on Sunday and Impending is John O'Shea's best chance to win the Guineas for the first time, while Team Hawkes is chasing its first win in the race since All Too Hard's famous victory in 2012.
Sacred Elixir is obviously a very talented galloper and can't be discounted, while Saracino might deserve another chance after he had no luck in running in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Prelude.
The other star attraction at Caulfield will be glamour mare Winx, who will take on just two rivals in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Stakes.
Black Heart Bart and He Or She are both racing well, but it is fair to say Winx should have little trouble heading into the 2016 Cox Plate with yet another win.
Chris Waller has another short-priced favourite in the 2016 Thousand Guineas betting in the form of talented mare Foxplay.
The 2016 Toorak Handicap is the final Group 1 event on the card and it is by far the most open betting affair. He's Our Rokki is the current favourite and More Joyous is the only favourite to have missed the placings in the Group 1 event since 2009.
Betting markets are now available with Ladbrokes.
