She’s got personality plus

OLIVIA Philp is proof a little bit of personality in an application shines through and gets you a long way.

In her case she is headed to the United States on a student exchange after winning an indigenous scholarship.

The 15-year-old Bishop Druitt student's desire to visit the US derives from her "being an adventurer at heart".

"I have always wanted to cross international borders and waters; to experience different cultures, meet new people and taste new foods," Olivia said.

"To me the USA represents such a huge melting pot of people and possibility.

"The opportunities the country has to offer are indescribable, if I experience them at such a young age, I believe they'll open doors I never knew existed - truly a life-altering experience."

The next deadline for applications is Monday, March 31. For more go to student exchange.org.au
