Scorpions face ready Wolves
THE Sawtell Scorpions will be stinging to get one over Woolgoolga today as a win tonight will see them qualifying for the semi-finals.
They have hit a rich vein of form in previous weeks that now sees them sitting on the edge of fourth place. But standing in their way will be a resilient Wolves outfit that have planned their finals charge at just the right moment.
Sawtell Scorpions coach Richard Evans said his team had done "everything" they could to stop a guaranteed Woolgoolga attack.
"It's going to be an important match. Each team will be well prepared and I expect a tough match to be played out on the weekend," Evans said.
"We've worked hard in training this week. All the guys know what to do and what it means for the club, so I'll be expecting a good showing from the lads."
The form of Aiden Whish-Wilson and Naoua Matsumoto has been the catalyst for the Scorpions in the past three games and Evans knows he will be relying on them and the whole team to step up.
"We are looking good in the way of injuries, we've got no one injured, so we'll be close to a full team," Evans said.
"Aiden Whish-Wilson and Naoua Matsumoto have been in extraordinary form lately. Matsumoto started off in the reserves and has worked very well for us in recent weeks".
