Salvos seeking 100 volunteers

ANOTHER 100 volunteers are needed to collect donations around the Coffs Coast for the Salvation Army.

Two hundred volunteers have already signed up to help with Woolworths, Big W, Bunnings, Park Beach Plaza and Coffs Central collection points and door knocking on May 28-29.

Coffs Harbour Salvation Army Corps Officer Major Russell Grice said there are still streets in the area that need a local volunteer to door knock in.

"Volunteers can have a fun few hours with family or friends doing the door knock through local streets, or they can choose a community collection point in their local area," Major Grice said.

"We are calling our volunteers Hope Givers this year, as they are much more to us than someone giving of their time for a cause.

"They are literally changing lives with us."

The Red Shield Appeal door knock runs from May 23-June 5.

To register as a volunteer, phone the Red Cross on 1800 885 332.
