Public funeral to be held for Dixie and Rachel Erlandsen
THE family of Dixie and Rachel Erlandsen are inviting relatives and friends to a public funeral service on Saturday.
The service will be held at 10am at the Macksville High School Stadium and will be followed by a interment in the Macksville Cemetery and a wake at Macksville Uniting Church.
Dixie, 50, and her daughter Rachel, 17, were killed on Friday after a collision with an ambulance at the intersection of the Pacific Hwy and Valla Beach Rd.
There has been an outpouring of support for the Erlandsen family in the wake of the tragedy with friends describing the mother and daughter as generous and cherished members of the community.
