Poor start but Courtney is remaining positive of improvement
DEFENDING Ironwoman champion Courtney Hancock admits she "didn't have a good one" after crashing out in both opening events of the 2014-15 Kellogg's Nutri-Grain series.
Courtney was off the pace early behind dual winner Liz Pluimers but hasn't given up on adding a fourth series victory to her bulging portfolio.
"There are still four races and anything can happen," Courtney said after finishing second to Liz in race one.
"Naturally I'm disappointed but the fact is I didn't have a good one."
The outcome must be worrying for Hancock given the conditions at Smiths Beach in Perth are the type the former Sawtell surf lifesaver revels in.
For the 26 year-old it's all about forgetting the results from Western Australia and looking forward to the next challenge. The next two rounds of the Nutri Grain series are being held at the Gold Coast on December 20 and 21.
