Police get bad vibes about 'rave'
COFFS Clarence police have this morning moved in to stop the set-up of a so called 'illegal' unsanctioned rave party called Pretty Vibes in the Pillar Valley.
Police said officers were notified by members of the community that a party was being planned this weekend.
"Inquiries have revealed that the event has been disguised as an anniversary party, however it is believed to be a commercially run 'rave'," Coffs Clarence police said in a statement.
"Regardless, these events are alcohol and drug fueled, and are not managed with appropriate risk management strategies to keep people safe."
Police said the site was expecting up to 2000 persons, with no toilet or sanitary systems on-site, and officers discovered an open toilet pit.
Partygoers were advised failure to comply with direction to leave may result in arrests.
"Police further encourage patrons to seek refunds of ticket purchases to avoid further disappointment or unnecessary travel over the weekend."
