No Winx, but Stars still come out for racing

How good is the racing at the Sunshine Coast this weekend?

While there will be no Winx in attendance, there is still plenty of talent in all four listed races on the card.

The Princess Stakes is the first black-type race and has drawn a classy filly in Look To The Stars, whose Sydney-based trainer, David Vandyke, will set up base on the Sunshine Coast later this year.

Look To The Stars does not win out of turn, but she was third behind Press Statement in the JJ Atkins last year and there was plenty of merit in her performance in the South Pacific Classic at Royal Randwick on April 16.

Sir Moments will lump the top weight of 61 kilograms in the Tails Stakes after carrying 57kg to victory in the race last year.

The weight should not prove a problem for last year's Hollindale Stakes runner-up after he carried 60.5kg to victory at Doomben last start, and there is no doubt he is the class horse in this field.

Hopfgarten and Worthy Cause have done battle on a number of occasions during the past 12 months and they will meet again in the Ascot Handicap, but they also have to contend with the in-form Casual Choice, who has recorded three wins from as many starts this preparation.

All three of these races are set to be exciting affairs in their own right, but the race of the day is the Mick Dittman Plate for three-year-old sprinters.

You can make a case for just about every horse in the field, and the likes of Wicked Intent, Big Tree, Blueberry Hill and the unbeaten Blue Desert Moon are all capable of pressing on to better races than this during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

The Mick Dittman Plate is set to be one of the best betting races in Australia this weekend and it is the perfect way to take advantage of the Ladbrokes Odds Boost.

Odds Boost allows Ladbrokes customers to select any runner in any race - including the Mick Dittman Plate at the Sunshine Coast tomorrow - and increase their potential winnings with the simple click of a button.
