Nambucca Heads man missing and police seek public assistance

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help locate a missing Nambucca Heads man.

Simon Allport, aged 40, spoke with a family member by telephone on last Tuesday, August 27, stating he was going surfing at an undisclosed location.

There has been no further contact with Mr Allport.

Officers have been told Mr Allport usually surfs secluded beaches between Valla Beach and Scotts Head.

He typically drives himself to these locations but his car is also missing.

Mid North Coast LAC Police have conducted extensive searches for the missing man, with no success.

They are now appealing for public assistance to help locate him.

Simon Allport is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160 to 170cm tall, with short red hair, a fair complexion, and a medium build of approximately 70kg.

Mr Allport's car is a blue 1991 model Mazda 121 sedan with NSW registration AY-29-VA.
