Motorists fleeced at Urunga as sheep block the highway

MOTORISTS have this afternoon been fleeced of precious time in their journeys through the township of Urunga.

Large flocks of sheep crossing the roadway have disrupted Pacific Highway traffic, police and the NSW Transport Centre are reporting.

A traffic alert was issued just after 3pm.

Both lanes of the highway are said to be affected near the Ranger St intersection, about 3km south of Urunga.

Police are attempting to muster the livestock at the scene.
