Majak moment will give you chills
Majak Daw has received an avalanche of support from the footy world - and the likes of NBA star Luol Deng and artist Fatman Scoop - after he ran for the first time since falling from a Melbourne bridge last year.
Daw posted vision of himself striding out on an Alter-G machine at the North Melbourne Football Club as his teammates cheered him on with enormous smiles on their faces.
"So something pretty amazing happened today," Daw wrote on Instagram. "I'm so thankful for all the support that's got me to this stage"
It was the Sudanese-born star's first Instagram post since falling from the Bolte Bridge last December.
Fellow Sudanese product Deng, who is currently with the Minnesota Timberwolves, responded with an encouraging message.
"Thanks for the kind words," Daw wrote back to Deng. "It's incredible the support I've been getting. One of the reasons I've come so far."
Hip hop hype man Fatmoon Scoop was also pumped. "U coming back!!!!! Yes!!!!! God is good!"
There was an outpouring of emotion from Daw's teammates and rivals. "This is the best," star Demons ruckman Max Gawn responded.
"Good to see you back running and smiling great man," wrote former Roo Daniel Harris.
"Well done mate!" added Collingwood's Jack Crisp. "This is awesome."
Daw suffered major pelvic damage in the fall and is no certainty to play this year.
