Long weekend will be busy

A MASSIVE Easter long weekend is in store across the Coffs Coast incorporating Anzac Day and activities galore!

From the Easter Fishing Classic to the Big Dig at Sawtell, there are plenty of events and activities to keep everyone occupied and amused.

The Easter Fishing Classic includes deep sea, beach, rock and estuary fishing. There will be daily weigh-ins, today from 1pm to 3pm and tomorrow from 11am to 1pm and a Marine Rescue charity fish auction at 1pm tomorrow at the Coffs Harbour Deep Sea Fishing Club.

Don’t miss the Sawtell Beach Big Dig on Easter Sunday where kids can dig for buried treasure ($5 each), plus Dash for Cash, surf club flag race, surf rescue demonstrations, beach events and sand modelling from 10am. A big day of racing and the Orara Valley is in store at Coffs Harbour Racing Club today for the 10th Camp Creek Cup.

The unique culture and lifestyle of the Orara Valley will be celebrated in true style. The first race is at 1.13pm and the meeting ties in with the traditional Sydney Easter Carnival.

Another highlight will be Jazz in the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden tomorrow night.

Sit under the stars in the Garden for a wonderful evening of jazz in the Pavilion. The Janet Seidel Jazz Trio will be joined by two extra players to form a five-piece ensemble.

Pianist and vocalist Janet Seidel, David Seidel on acoustic double bass and Chuck Morgan on guitar and ukulele are the Janet Seidel Trio.
