In an emotional address to the mourners, Angry looked over at Lindy as he described Liam as "a wonderful child we had raised".

A montage of photographs featuring Liam, an aspiring rapper, flashed on a giant screen accompanied by music by David Bowie.

Red-eyed after the service, the Rose Tattoo frontman was comforted by his children Blaine, Galen and Roxanne, friends of Liam's and music industry figures including band members Bob Spencer, Dai Pritchard and drummer Jackie Barnes.

Speaking after the service, Ms Anderson collapsed in tears and told The Daily Telegraph: "I'll never hold my baby boy again, life will never be the same.

"It's real now, until today I could pretend Liam's death never happened but now it's sinking in, I will never see my baby boy again."

Anderson's youngest child, Liam was found barely breathing face down in a Queenscliff park on November 4, with acquaintance Matthew Flame standing over him after a long night of partying.

Paramedics were unable to revive him. Flame, 20, has been charged with Liam's murder.

In court documents, police allege Liam and Flame met up the previous evening with friends at the Brookvale Hotel for drinks before attending a hip hop concert at Surry Hills.

Flame and Liam allegedly took a cocktail of MDMA and booze until the early hours.
