Juniors prep for tournaments

THIS year junior players will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities developed to help with fitness, agility and racquet skills.

Programs will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. We will be introducing a Talent Development Group on Saturday mornings.

The aim of the Talent Development Group is to foster players ready for NSW Junior Squash Circuit tournament.

Coffs Harbour already conducts three tournaments (two bronze and one silver category) which are on the NSW Junior Calendar. This year we have the added bonus of hosting the NSW Junior State Age Championships in July.

We hope many of the local players will take up the challenge, as many have developed their game to a level where they need to gain experience against players of different abilities from other regions.

Competitions

This week is the final week of competition in the Tuesday and Thursday formats. The Summer Madness finals on Tuesday will see frontrunners Brad Harrison, Jemma Wratten, Brad O'Grady and Keith McPherson needing to play their best as challengers Craig Drever, Paul Ivanoff, Matt Hampshire and Jonathan Koster will be looking to maximise their points and are certainly within range of the leaders.

Registrations for the new season open on Tuesday, February 6. This year players will need to register for the competitions to ensure players are committed.
