Here are the best places for breakfast on the Coast
THERE'S no shortage of breakfast options available for diners looking for a morning bite on the Coffs Coast.
The Advocate asked its Facebook friends where they thought the best place in the region was to go out for a great breakfast. There was a wide variety of responses but a countdown of the most popular answers are listed below.
9. Charlie's (Novotel Pacific Bay Resort)
For those of us who have trouble saying enough is enough, breakfast at Charlie's is a full buffet with choice of hot meals, pastries, fruit and cereals.
8. Shearwater (Promenade)
The $12 breakfast has customers heading to the Promenade for a relaxing start to the day overlooking Coffs Creek.
7. Mangrove Jack's (Promenade)
Not only can you grab a great breakfast but you can hire a canoe or kayak as well to either work up an appetite or burn off the extra calories you've just enjoyed via the popular cafe's menu.
6. Cafe TREEO (Sawtell)
It's not just the relaxed atmosphere of Sawtell's main street that attracts people to Cafe TREEO, it's the fact the popular haunt allows you to sleep in after a big night as the sometimes rustic, sometimes refined breakfast menu is served all day.
5. Bluebottles Brasserie (Woolgoolga)
A long-time early morning favourite of locals with the kerbside cafe's Banana Bread made on premises a melt in your mouth experience.
4. Cafe Aqua (Park Beach)
Cafe Aqua's food has plenty of fans and is made using locally sourced produce. The cakes, muffins, friands are Aqua's specialty and are made on premises. Early birds enjoy the breakfast specials while some can't get enough of the ever popular smoked salmon scrambled eggs.
3. Split Cafe and Espresso Bar (Sawtell)
One reader went so far as to say the scrambled eggs at Split are the best in Australia. We'll leave that for the individual to judge but along with great food and coffee being for sale, so too is the art. Many people think the bikes are pieces of art on display only, they are all for sale.
2. Urban Espresso Lounge (Jetty strip)
The Advocate's Facebook friends raved about Urban's corn fritters. Urban also prides itself on great coffee and uses a unique blend from local supplier, Penny Farthing Coffee Roasters.
1. Surf Club Restaurant and Bar (Park Beach)
The Surf Club offers meals with an uninterupted beach view and a fresh sea breeze. Lots of local, free-range and organic ingredients make us happy, and their breakfasts are some of the most scrumptious in the town. Early birds are rewarded with $10 brekkie specials between 7am and 8.30am.
Honourable mentions: Bonville Golf Resort, Coffs Harbour Clog Barn, Boudenes Cafe (Moonee)
