This weekend on the Coffs Coast we will see a short period south swell push in on Saturday taking a bit of punch out of the waves, compared to the east swells we have been rece
Winds will be fairly strong from the south but will ease over the weekend. Sunday the swell will swing back to the east and this combined with lighter southerly winds will ensure some fun waves in our southern corners.
Moving into next week the swell will drop of a little and this combined with light winds will ensure most beaches will have waves for surfers of all levels.
All up it looks like a good week for waves and with a fair bit of sand moving around at all our beaches the potential for some great banks is sure to keep surfers excited.
World Surf News
The women's world title has been run and won and it was Aussie Tyler Wright who has won her second world title. The last event went down at Honolua Bay on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Tyler's semi final finish ensured the title was hers. Six time world champ Steph Gilmore took out the event and moved her to a runner up finish in the end of year ratings
While the women's title was finishing up the final men's WQS event was being run at Sunset Beach. Connor Coffin took out the event with Aussie Wade Carmichael finishing in third place and being the only Australian to qualify for the world tour through the WQS for 2017.
The final men's World Tour event gets under way on December 8 at Pipeline. Current World Champ John Florence is in the lead with Brazilian Gabriel Medina close in second.
