Free legal help on offer

The Mid North Coast Community Legal Centre, together with Disability Advocacy and big Sydney law firm, Ashurst lawyers, are offering free appointments to parents or carers of people with disabilities, so that they can get a Will or Power of Attorney drawn up for themselves.

"Parents and carers of people with disabilities often have many competing demands, and may not take the time to plan ahead for what may happen for that person when they are no longer able to care for them themselves," Disability Advocate for Coffs Harbour, Rob Manwaring.

"Planning ahead can take a huge burden of stress off their shoulders, allowing them to concentrate on caring for their loved ones with peace of mind about the future"

A morning workshop, open to anyone interested, will cover Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Guardianship and many other related topics.

Free afternoon appointments are available for low income earners who are parents or carers of people with disabilities.

To arrange an appointment for Tuesday, June 19, call the Mid North Coast Community Legal Centre on 6580 2111.
