Free advice to navigate Royal Commission
A NEW free legal advisory service is available to take calls from people who are considering providing information to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in the NSW Mid North Coast.
The 'knowmore' service is an important resource for people, providing advice and support to those seeking to engage with the Royal Commission.
The service will be able to provide expert, free legal advice over the phone through a national 1800 number, and face-to-face meetings in key locations for anyone considering speaking with the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
knowmore Executive Officer Jenny Hardy said the team is now on hand to answer calls and answer queries.
"As the Royal Commission travels around the country, our free advice line is available for people who want to know more about engaging with the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse to understand the range of options available to them," Ms Hardy said.
"The service is confidential, respectful, and open to anyone who may be thinking about coming forward and giving evidence.
"Our job is to help people understand all their options so they can make an informed decision and feel supported in that process. If they decide to proceed, we will make sure they are given high quality legal advice and referrals to any other support services they might need.
