Flower power giving hope
FRIDAY is Daffodil Day, the day for all Australians to show they care about beating cancer.
The event came early for residents of Coffs Harbour's Shearwater Lodge and members of Coffs Harbour cancer support groups, who received bunches of the cheerful spring flowers at the Cancer Council's 2015 Daffodil Day launch this week.
Buckets of daffodils and boxes of Daffodil Day merchandise will sprout all over the Coffs Coast on Friday for Daffodil Day 2015.
The annual event is one of the Cancer Council's major fundraising events to support cancer research; provide practical support services and advocacy for cancer patients and run cancer prevention programs.
Interested people can get involved in the day or donate online at daffodilday.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
While details of all the local sales outlets are still to come, one location which will definitely have plenty of daffodils and merchandise will be the Cancer Council office in West High St, Coffs Harbour.
