Film event celebrates community inclusion

A FILM festival launching in Coffs Harbour next month will celebrate social inclusion for people with a disability and the wider community.

Screenwave will present the inaugural Access All Areas Film Festival program on Wednesday, December 2, at Coffs Harbour's Jetty Memorial Theatre.

The festival will include an award-winning Australian short film program, an interactive Zumba demonstration, and a live sand painting performance by acclaimed artist John Thiering.

"Access All Areas is a film festival for the whole community: film lovers, support service clients, carers, day program organisers, school students and the Coffs Coast community," artistic director Kate Howat said.

The film program will feature closed captions and hearing loop availability.

Doors open at 11.30am for a 12.30pm start, with the program concluding at 2pm.

Tickets cost $8 or $6 for group bookings (10+).
