Dorrigo looking for surprise win in knockout semi
WITH nothing to lose, Dorrigo will be hoping to spring a major upset when it takes on PBBC Colts in the CHDCA first-grade minor semi-final today.
The two sides will go head to head at Coffs Coast Sport and Leisure Park in a two-day clash.
It will be the first time any local team has played in weeks, following the torrential rain, with Dorrigo captain Justin Gilbert confident it could give his side a shot at an unlikely victory. "With so much time on the sideline, everyone will be a bit rusty," Gilbert said.
"I think one player will make the difference in this game. One good knock with the bat or a good spell with the ball could really break the game open."
Despite his team's less than stellar regular season record, Gilbert is confident his side could be a real surprise packet.
"We have nothing on the line so all the boys will give it everything," he said.
"At the end of the day it will be nice to get out on the pitch after such a long layoff. Hopefully the weather holds up because everyone is firing for a big game."
