Carlton star Bryce Gibbs hit with two-game ban for tackle

AFL: Port Adelaide forward Chad Wingard says he has no problem with the tackle that knocked out teammate Robbie Gray in the game against Carlton, but the AFL's match review panel took a different view.

Blues midfielder Bryce Gibbs has been hit with an 'engaging in rough conduct' charge that would see him suspended for two games with an early guilty plea.

Gibbs pinned Gray's arms and slammed him face first into the MCG turf in the second quarter of Saturday's match, with the Port best-and-fairest winner taken from the field on a stretcher and substituted out of the match. Gray (pictured) was back at training yesterday, and Wingard said the incident was just part of the game.

"It's a physical game, it's football, we're not playing soccer or we're not playing a game where you can't hit them," he said.

"The positive thing is (Robbie's) fine, he gave us the thumbs up and he's here today and he's ready to go."
