Authors share publishing secrets
TWO local authors will be sharing the secrets next month of how to get published both in e-book and traditional hardback form at Coffs Harbour Library.
Local resident Bronwyn Rodden had her first book - 'The Crushers', a crime fiction set in the Blue Mountains of NSW - e-published.
Ms Rodden is an emerging local writer of poetry and fiction. She holds an MA in writing and has previously won the Patricia Hackett Prize for one of her short stories.
She will give other budding authors her tips on how to have an e-book published on Wednesday, May 9 at 5.30pm.
The following week, on Tuesday, May 15 at 5.30pm, the Library will host bestselling Mid North Coast author Karly Lane.
Ms Lane will be speaking about her new novel 'Morgan's Law'. 'Morgan's Law' tells the story of high-flying advertising executive, Sarah Murphy, who heads to a small town to fulfil the mysterious last wish of her late grandmother.
Many readers will already be familiar with Karly's work through her first book 'North Star', which was named one of 'Get Reading's 50 Books You Can't Put Down for 2011'.
Karly writes in the increasingly popular genre of Rural Fiction with her novels being set on Australian farms with a touch of romance and mystery.
There will be an opportunity on the night to purchase signed copies of Karly's books.
Both events are free and light refreshments will be served from 5.30pm with the talks starting at 6pm.
