KICK start the Screenwave International Film Festival with a home-grown comedy from a former local.

Alice Foulcher is a former Coffs local and Bishop Druitt College student who has co-written and co-directed the film That's not me with her husband Gregory Erdstein which will be playing in two weeks time at the Jetty Memorial Theatre.

Alice started work at the iconic Coffs Harbour Fishermen's Co-op scaling and gutting fish and now works between Melbourne and Hollywood as an actor, script writer and director.

Alice and Gregory's film That's not me is a comedy of errors telling two parallel stories of twin sisters Polly and Amy, both aspiring actors who meet vastly different levels of success.

Juggling woeful auditions, painfully awkward dates and her underwhelming job at the local cinema, Polly can only look on as her identical twin sister Amy catapults to international stardom.

The film won Top Ten Audience prizes at Sydney Film Festival premiere this year and at Melbourne International Film Festival and is described as "the perfect blend of comedy and tragedy" by the Huffington Post.

That's not me will play at the SWIFF 2018 preview gala night on Friday, December 15.

Alice and Greg will introduce the film and answer audience questions in a post screening Q&A.

Tickets for the preview gala are $25 and available from the Jetty Theatre box office or at swiff.com.au
