Accused baby killer faces committal hearing

A MAN accused of killing his five-month-old baby son on Brisbane's bayside last year will face a committal hearing in July.

Kozan Samuel Ware, 33, had his matter briefly mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this afternoon.

It was listed for a committal hearing later this year, where three doctors would be cross-examined, the court heard.

Ware was charged with murder after baby Adrian Joshua (A.J.) Ware was found unresponsive at a Cleveland home about 9am on March 28, 2017.

Police and emergency services attended the home and the boy was declared dead at the scene.

Ware was arrested over 12 months later and charged with the baby's murder.

One year after the death, the 33-year-old posted a tribute to the boy on social media, saying: "I can't believe this is the day god took u (sic) from me, my heart bleeds everyday n everynite (sic) for u my baby Adrian Joshua Wommmie Ware.

"Dad luvz u n misses u (sic) everyday n everynite (sic).

"Today is the day my world flipped upside down, my life changed after this day...

"I would do anything to c ur (sic) cheeky smile one ore time...

"Dad will c u wen (sic) I get there my baby angel."

In November last year, he posted a photograph of the child with the caption: "God was supposed to take me first not u (sic) my baby boy."

Following A.J.'s death, the Ware family made shirts honouring the baby boy. They featured an image of A.J. with his date of birth and date of death, with the words "fly high our little angel".

The Woodridge man remains on remand and his matter will return to court on July 30.
