Peter Newbold killed in Saturday's motorcycle crash

THE 61-year-old man who died in a fatal collision at Whiporie on Saturday has been identified as Peter Newbold of Clarenza.
Mr Newbold was riding a motorcycle which collided with a utility driven by a younger man on the Summerland Way near the Whiporie shop about 10.20am on Saturday.
It is understood Mr Newbold died shortly after the crash.
Mr Newbold was the area manager for Tursa Employment and Training in Coffs Harbour and was a former president of the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce.
Friends said Mr Newbold, a motorbike and vintage car enthusiast, was highly regarded in business and employment industry circles.
Mr Newbold's wife Anne is heavily involved with the Grafton Criterion Theatre.
The couple's three daughters are understood to be at home or on their way home to pay respects to their father.
The Daily Examiner is expecting to have more details about Mr Newbold's life in Wednesday's edition.
It is understood the driver of the utility was a man in his 30s from the Whiporie area.

THE MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash near Whiporie on Saturday is now thought to have been in his 60s, not his 30s as previously reported, police said.
The man - whose identity has not been revealed - was killed on Saturday morning when his motorcycle collided with a utility near the intersection of the Summerland Way and the Whiporie Rd.
The Summerland Way was blocked for hours as police carried out an investigation at the scene - they will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Police said the driver of the utility was unhurt in the crash.

A MAN in his mid 30s died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at Whiporie.
Emergency services attended the scene at 10.20am.
A lifesaver helicopter arrived but the man died soon after it landed, an Ambulance NSW spokeswoman confirmed.
The condition of the other driver is unknown.

THE Summerland Way is closed between Grafton and Casino due to a serious accident involving a car and motorcycle at Whiporie.
Northbound and southbound motorists are advised to use the Pacific Highway between Grafton and Casino instead.
The local council, RMS crews and emergency services are responding.
Due to the nature of the accident, the road may be closed for some time.
Motorists should delay their journey or allow additional travel time.
