Forthcoming Vacancies on the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority Board.
The Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change is seeking Expressions of Interest for up to ten positions, including the Chairperson and the Deputy Chairperson to join nominees from each specified Aboriginal party to form the inaugural Board of the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority.
The terms of appointment for Members are to commence on 1st December 2020.
The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCPA) is a new independent Statutory Authority reporting to the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change.
There will be a phased transition to the Authority’s full scope of activities over the coming years. This full scope will encompass park management, advisory, regulatory, management and service delivery functions, scientific research, inter-jurisdiction activities, program design and implementation, coordination and delivery of major state construction projects in the Great Ocean Road region.
To be considered for these positions you will have demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: public administration; governance; financial management; and environmental conservation.
In addition, experience in: land-use planning and landscape architecture; marine and coastal environmental science; natural resource management; cultural and heritage values management; travel, tourism, hospitality and leisure; investment facilitation; construction management; and community engagement will be highly regarded.
A connection and knowledge with the Great Ocean Road region is expected.
